Course Overview

The B.Sc. Computer Science is a three-year undergraduate programme designed to provide students with a strong foundation in computing principles, programming languages and data management.

The course covers a wide range of subjects including Programming (C, C++, Java, Python), Database Management, Data Structures, Operating Systems and Web Technologies. Students also gain exposure to Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity, aligning with the needs of modern industries.

Through a balanced blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience, the course aims to develop analytical, problem-solving and design skills essential for the IT profession.

About the Curriculum

The curriculum follows the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) under Bharathiar University, combining academic depth with employability-focused skill development.

About the Lab / Language Resource Centre

The Computer Science Laboratoryis the technological hub of the department, equipped with odern computers, high-speed internet and advanced software to facilitate practical learning.

The lab infrastructure supports programming, web development, database design, and system networking. Students gain experience using tools and technologies such as Visual Studio, MySQL, Oracle, Python IDEs and cloud platforms.

A dedicated Network and Server Unit allows students to understand the functioning of LAN, WAN, and cybersecurity systems. The labs are designed to encourage hands-on exploration, coding challenges and collaborative learning.
