The admission process at Sri Vasavi College (Aided Wing) is transparent, merit-based, and strictly adheres to the norms and regulations prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. The institution welcomes aspiring learners from diverse backgrounds who seek quality higher education combined with value-based growth.

Admissions are offered for Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), and M.Phil. programmes under the Government Aided Stream.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate (UG) Programmes
  • Candidates who have successfully completed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other recognized board are eligible to apply for UG courses.
  • Admission is based on merit, subject to the reservation policy of the Government.
  • Students from other states must produce eligibility or migration certificates as applicable.
Example:

For B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com. programmes – students should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination with relevant subject combinations as per university norms.

Postgraduate (PG) Programmes
  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university.
  • Admission is granted on the basis of academic merit and compliance with the university’s eligibility regulations.
  • Students seeking admission from other universities must produce provisional and degree certificates along with transfer certificates.
Example:

For M.Sc. Physics – B.Sc. Physics graduates are eligible.

For M.Com. – B.Com. or equivalent degree holders can apply.

M.Phil. Programmes
  • Candidates must have completed a Master’s degree in the relevant subject with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) from a recognized university.
  • Admission is based on entrance tests and interviews conducted as per Bharathiar University guidelines.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories are eligible for relaxation as per Government norms.

Both Full-Time and Part-Time M.Phil. programmes are offered, depending on the department.

Certificates to be Produced at the Time of Admission

At the time of admission, candidates must produce the following original certificates along with photocopies for verification:

  • Transfer Certificate (T.C.) from the last attended institution.
  • Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied.
  • Mark Statements of the qualifying examination (10th, 12th, or degree).
  • Community Certificate (for SC/ST/MBC/BC candidates).
  • Migration Certificate (for students from other boards/universities).
  • Eligibility Certificate (for students from other states).
  • Passport-size Photographs (recent – as prescribed by the institution).
  • Income Certificate (if applicable, for scholarship purposes).
  • Aadhaar Card Copy (for identity verification).

Withdrawal Procedures

A student seeking withdrawal from the college must submit a written request addressed to the Principal, duly signed by the student and the parent/guardian.

The Transfer Certificate (T.C.) and Conduct Certificate will be issued only after:

  • Clearing all dues to the college (academic, library, and hostel, if applicable).
  • Returning library books, lab materials, and ID cards.
  • Fees once paid will not be refunded, except in cases specifically permitted under university or government norms.
  • Students admitted through online counselling or government quota must follow the respective board’s withdrawal and refund regulations.

Note:

At the time of admission, candidates must produce the following original certificates along with photocopies for verification:

  • Admissions open every academic year as per the schedule announced by Bharathiar University.
  • The College strictly follows the Government’s reservation policy and UGC guidelines for admission.
  • Prospectus and application forms are available on the college campus and through the official website during the admission period.
